The hexahedron equivalent of a Face-turning Octahedron based on a 'Super Ivy' Rex cube from QiYi
The Octosaurus Rex applies the eight-colour scheme of the Octosaurus to the "Super Ivy (QiYi)" cube which is in effect a mechanically more-stable Rex Cube.
This creates a puzzle that is the equivalent of the Face-Turning Octahedron but in a hexahedron shape.
This stickering scheme could have been done on a standard Rex Cube, but the large petal faces on the base Super Ivy [Rex] QiYi base puzzle are more similar in shape to the equilateral triangles of the Face-Turning Octahedron and the piece-equivalence is far easier to see; push in the tips of an FTO and they become the flat faces of a Rex, flatten the FTO edges and they become the Dino edges of the Rex. Jared McComb showed this to the inventor.
