The earliest face turning dodecahedron.
Cubic Circular 3&4 gives no less than nine names for people thinking about a face turning dodecahedron. Patents were granted only to Szlivka Ferenc, Christoph Bandelow and Benjamin R. Halpern.
The Supernova is the first patented variant of what is nowadays known as the Megaminx.
The variant with twelve colours is more often seen. The colours are: Silver, Green, Yellow, Orange, Beige, Dark Brown, Golden, White, Blue, Light Brown, Red, Dark Orange.
There exist some sample with white bodies. These have 6 colours painted directly onto the body and with non-removed mold marks.
SuperNova was the first to be produced in Hungary, by Matraplast. Later it was also sold in France (see images 4-5; under the name "le diamant") and the UK (by Pentangle).
Edge length: 31 mm
No later than 2020 a version "Rubiks Megaminx" from Rubik's Studio hit the market. See image 14.
