Sliding-tile puzzle without gaps. Made in Hungary, originally.
The Hungarian Globe is a gem of a puzzle. The inner plastic core serves as the functional part of the toy, and the tin coverings show the surface of the earth. The mechanism is simply 12 tiles that rotate around 3 rings that encompass the Globe.
Most likely the Equator (see the separate entry) began to be produced and sold in 1981 when they tested their technology. Afterwards they made the more difficult globe puzzle and started selling it in 1982 in a box from the equator with a FOLD sticker. There are also boxes with a GLOBUS sticker. In 1983 a new double-sided box with images of the globe and equator is made. All early globes were in Hungarian. a box with an English globe was produced in 1983. The soviet globe (see the separate entry) was made for the youth festival in the soviet union in 1985.
Images 12-15 show an early version with two matt colours.
This entry is about the version with english inscriptions and the packages resembling the original hungarian ones.
