Most octagonal prisms were produced with a size of 57 mm, like a standard Rubiks Cube. But there were also other sizes like this.
The "Magic Octagonal Prism" was first mentioned in David Singmasters Cubic Circular Issue 1 from Autum 1981. Back then a standard size and three miniature sizes (37 mm, 34 mm, 30 mm) were reported.
