The Mystic Totem without stored cuts in the internal pieces.
The Mystic Pendant was originally not in the Mystic Series, a set of puzzles basedon the Hexagonal dipyramid. However, its design was suggested by Evgeniy Grigoriev, and the result was so nice that Matt Galla decided to retroactively include it in the series. The Mystic Pendant is nearly mechanically equivalent to the Mystic Totem, except that the Mystic Totem has stored cuts present in the internal pieces while the equivalent pieces on the Mystic Pendant do not. Where the Mystic Totem has many instances of internal bandaging, those same internals are exposed on the Mystic Pendant, giving the solver a more fairly presented puzzle. Despite this help, the difficulty of the Mystic Pendant is ultra-extreme and will pose an immense challenge for even the most experienced solvers. Computer simulations suggest that the Mystic Pendant can be solved by expert hands, but there are no known solves of this puzzle to date.
