The closest relative of this variant is the "Crazy 3x3x3 Plus 4 Faces". See the seperate entry. It is a Crazy 3x3x3 with four circles. Four edges of this cube contain circular cuts in both adjacent circles.
The inventor removed these edges and replaced them with pieces that contain pieces only of one circle. Unlike the predecessor it is a true Plus-variant. The white side is type 0, meaning the inner parts of the circle don't turn with the surrounding pieces. The other are type 1.
