This puzzle started as an experiment. The inventor challenged himself to add a large circle to each side of his raptor skewb. The circles resemble the Circle Raptor Cube. He also implemented a second version implementing cuts resembling the Circle Raptor Cube V2. See the seperate entry.
The biggest challenge to making this concept work was in making sure the additional circle cuts wouldn't cause any internal bandaging when making a skewb turn, while also making sure the puzzle wouldn't become unstable which resulted in a rather complex mechanism.
