Four colour sticker variant of the Six Spot Cube creates a cubic equivalent of the Tetraminx
A simple sticker variant of David Pitcher's Six Spot Cube and an alternative arrangement to the Four Colour Six Spot Cube. See image 5 for a comparison.
The solution of the original Six Spot Cube requires orientation of the four corners and permutation of the six single-coloured centres. This sticker-mod adds orientation of the centres to the solution. The result is a cubic equivalent of a standard Tetraminx. The two-colour centres equate to the Tetraminx tetrahedrons and the four corners equate to the octahedron pieces.
A casual puzzler might start with the Six Spot Cube and progress through the Four Colour Six Spot Cube to this Four Colour Super Six Spot Cube. From this point they can explore the Pyraminx, Skewb, Halpern-Meier Pyramid and onward into this fascinating world of twisty puzzles.
