The Ultimate Cube is one of the earliest sticker variants of the 3x3x3. It surfaced during the original cube craze. A related variant is the Master Cubo Magico. The inventor (intentionally or not) applied the concept of the latter to a megaminx.
As a result the puzzle shows 30 colours, one for each edge. As a result the orientation of the edges is no longer visible but the orientation of the faces now is.
