The Rhombic Supernova is a hybrid puzzle, explanable in several ways:
It combines a 3x3x3 with a Rex Rhombic Dodecahedron.
It combines a 5x5x5 with a Rex Cube.
It combines four cuts of a face turning cube and two cuts of a corner turning cube.

The designer himself views it as the rhombic dodecahedral cousin of the Rex Skewb.
Spartacus and Rexmate were also important sources of inspiration.
