I would like to present my latest puzzle, the Cubic Helicopter Dodecahedron.

As the name suggests, it is a shape mod of a Helicopter Dodecahedron into a cube.

It has an edge length of about 57mm an weighs about 130 grams

This puzzle uses a slightly different cut depth and curve shape than the commercial Helicopter Dodecahedron because otherwise it would be a mess in cubic form.

I've rendered these cut parameters on the Dodecahedron for a comparison:

And here they are sliced in half so you can see that the pentagons are indeed, the core.

These slice cross sections also show how the conical cuts don't have their apex at the origin.

It can be quite difficult, but I have managed to avoid it being too bad by removing the screws on those faces, and after doing that, combined with breaking in they turn fine, especially since once it starts getting scrambled there is more to grab onto to turn.
