Six axes on a tetrahedron, three of them jumbling only.
As the name suggests, the idea of this puzzle originates from the Sprout Cube and Sprout Dodecahedron, see the separete entries. The puzzle has 6 axes, including 3 jumbling-only axes and 3 corner-turning axes. Similar to the Sprout Dodecahedron, the three non-jumbling turns do not intersect. The puzzle has a total of 41 pieces including the core.
It might be argued that the name of the puzzle should include the word “plus” or “unbandaged”. However, without those stored cuts, the puzzle will have only one corner piece and thus won’t scramble very well. I guess it is unnecessary to add the word “plus” if no bandaged version will be made.
Solvingwise, the puzzle functions identically to a Sprout Cube Unbandaged, restricted to 6 axes. The geometry of the puzzle could be understood as a face-turning augmented tetrahedron.
This puzzle is printed in SLS. It uses a screw-free mechanism as in the other Sprout puzzles.
