Tricopter 9DD Pillow
Above:Solved
Click a thumbnail to see its larger version and description.
A pillowed edge turning prism with axes at all nine edges. The three axes at the 60 degree edges are deep cut.

This puzzle is similar to the previous Tricopter 9DD Flat puzzle, with the only change being that the prism shape has been pillowed in an attempt to gain more room for a more robust mechanism. Unfortunately this attempt failed, and the puzzle is still very prone to popping.

The geometry is exactly the same as with Tricopter 9DD Flat in that the jumbling cuts are deeper, and the non-jumbling cut are deep, going through the origin of the prism. As with all the previous Tricopter puzzles, turns on these two axes types can be combined in either order, allowing the puzzle to become fully scrambled.

This is arguably the most complex puzzle in the Tricopter series, featuring stacked axles, floating axles, a cheese core, and the highest part count for this puzzle series. Unfortunately the geometry is very unstable, and the puzzle is highly prone to popping apart, making it very difficult to play.
