At the time it was the most valuable puzzle known to exist. What else can somebody say about a puzzle sold for $3550?

The petaminx was designed by Andrew Cormier. He casted the pieces from 3D-printed masters. One of the original copies was sold on March 22, 2009 for $3550. The STL files for the master parts are currently available. Estimated construction time, based on a well-documented previous attempt, is around 50 to 70 hours for a well-built Petaminx.

In 2012 massproduction of this puzzle started. The new version weighs 1500g, has to be stickered by the buyer and has a size of 143 mm.
