Luna Crystal is slightly deeper cut than the previous Luna Minx from the same inventor. The slices meet at the centers of the faces, creating the new "crystal" edges. If straight cuts were used, those edges would not remain attached to the puzzle, so again curved cuts are used to retain a mechanical attachment for all parts. This lets the pieces in the centre of the kites vanish.
The puzzle is the result of a collaboration with Matt Galla.
