This puzzle is a sticker mod on the recent 50th anniversary Pyraminx Crystal from Mefferts made with solid clear plastic pieces. Each tetrahedral or octagonal piece acts as a prism and so total internal reflection enables the stickers on internal faces to be visible on the external faces, hence the name.
In its solved state the colour normally on each face is one layer deeper and also at the base of the trivial tip. Stickers are applied to the edge pieces and the octagonal shoulder piece directly behind it. The solution is the same as for the pyraminx.
The prototype does not have the visual appeal of the next version "TIRaminx Fire" which uses translucent stickers and a tetraminx format.
