A 12x12x12 with some pieces removed to reveal some previously hidden pieces.

This is a 12x12x12 version of Tony's earlier 6x6x6 V-Dome. The response to these kind of puzzles range from very negative to very positive. Tony loves the idea of exposing the mechanism and creating a new solving challenge at the same time. This challenge can also be simulated with bandaging.
The little tabs (see image 2) are part of the 12x12x12 and stops missalighnment of the normally hidden middle layers. The 12x12x12 continues to use these though the 6x6x6 version had full freedom of movement and some parts on the middle layer also had to be solved. Getting rid of freedom of movement was a great improvement.
