Virtually every twisty Egg puzzle previously made has had similar angled lines of rotation, including Tony Fishers Skewb Eggs. This is a good technique to make a difficult puzzle but I felt it was time to go in a new direction. This new direction is straight across and straight up and down. The resulting puzzle is easier than other eggs and has several pieces the same shape so colouring is important.
Luckily Olivér's Stickers had some very nice metallic material which was a little thinner and worked well. Since there were only a small number of colours available and multi-coloured printed stickers weren't possible Tony decided for a combination of metallic gold and silver. The final scheme was heavily influenced by the shape of the parts. Some of the parts are very similar shapes though fractionally different. The unavoidable inaccuracies of a hand made transformation means that distinguishing the differences is virtually impossible so a sticker scheme must reflect them instead.
