First the inventor put together a hybrid of a cubic 3x3x5 and a cubic 3x3x7. Please refer to image 4 for the puzzle in its original shape. Second the inventor modified it like the original axis cube.
The inventor choose the hybrid as base puzzle after he built similar puzzles from unmixed cubic 3x3x5 and cubic 3x3x7. These predecessors are also in the museum under the names Duo Axis Cube and Mie Axis Cube.
