The inventor had dreamed of this puzzle since 2006 when it was first discussed on the forum. After two failed designs he succeedes in July 2014.
Since the invention of the 5x5x5 puzzlers thought about the theoretic 3x3x3 inside of it. Tony Fisher discussed it in an article of CFF in 1989.
This puzzle is the first to physically implement this concept.
