The inventor created this variant as part of a series which consists of a 4x4x4, a 6x6x6 and a 7x7x7. All contain a bandaging pattern of a smaller cube in one corner. In this case it is the Bicube.
A mass produced version "Dia-Cube-4 Bandaged 4x4x4" also hit the market. See images 4-5.
