A puzzle with two intersecting circles. Produced in low quantity in four different variants.
This puzzle is one of Douglas Engel's patented creations made in low quantities. It is covered by the same patent as Battle Gears, Gizmo Gears and Dancing Gears.
Compared with the other puzzles the cuts have sixfold symmetry.
Solvingwise Dancing Gears is a reimplementation of the "Puzzler" which was also invented by Douglas Engel.
"Puzzler - Novice" is equivalent to "Sun-Moon"
"Puzzler - Avenger" is equivalent to "Color Wheels"
"Puzzler - Engel's Island" is equivalent to "Binary Star"
"Puzzler - Engel's Enigma" is equivalent to "Engels Enigma"
The other variants are colored differently than the preceeding puzzles.
Magical Gears comes in four different versions which pieces are differently colored. The names of the variants can be viewed with each images caption.
The first year of production is so far unknown. The year given here is an upper bound.
The puzzles can be obtained directly from Douglas Engel who makes them with laser cutting
