Another cuboid in the series of 2x2xN puzzles. Implemented five years after the 2x2x6.
For a long time of about six years this cuboid was a deeply missed slot in the array of cuboids. The 2x2x4 had been known for a long time before. The 2x2x6 was presented in 2002 or 2003 (with regular cubies) but the 2x2x5 was presented no earlier than 2008.
The first version (images 1-2) was customly built by Jesse Werner.
Images 3-6 show a customly 3D printed sample from the collection of Claus Wenicker.
Images 7 shows the mass produced version from Witeden from 2018.
In 2018 it was rebranded to 1688Cube and a purple and a transparent version was added. See images 8-12.
Size: 51 x 51 x 127.5 mm
Weight: 171 grams (black / purple), 179 grams (transparent)
