After Claus Wenicker saw the Gear Barrel he decided to try an own series of shape transformations on the basis of the Gear Cube. One result was this Gear Cube truncated down into a sphere. His alternative name is "1-face Gear Cube".
The version shown in images 2-3 was made by Juan Tello Vasquez He named it "Gear Ball 3x3x3"
