This puzzle in the shape of a stella octangula can be thought of as a compound of two Master Pyraminxes. Tom van der Zanden got the idea from this puzzle from patent US4836549 but designed the mechanism independently. The stickers on this puzzle are recessed to stop them being rubbed of as the puzzle is turned.
The puzzle is being sold on Shapeways as a DIY kit, finished copies are for sale from the inventor.
