The Mastermorphynx remade with hollowed out pieces.

This Mastermorphynx is a hand-made variant of a QiYi Sail 68 mm 3x3x3. This puzzle's small corner feet make it ideal for deep cut mods like this. The shapw was cut by hand with a razor saw and edges and faces were then built up with black epoxy putty and wet-sanded smooth. The V-shaped colour stickers were taken from a Meffert's Crystal Pyraminx. Silver stickers add to the illusion as piercing the faces would have been difficult.

The puzzle was created to explore the relationships between platonic solids and perhaps with a small hope to surprise visitors expecting Pyraminx turns. The inspiration was of course Traiphum's Mastermorphynx. Jumbo encouraged the inventor to make the voids more crisp rather than fill them in. Thanks to both.

The final size equals a standard Pyraminx.
Edge length: 105 mm
Weight: 82 grams
(as for the inventor, this could be lighter with a little effort)
