Each and every single part (excluding the screws etc) of this was made on an FDM machine. They were then smoothed using solvent and high-grit sandpaper. The only part that isn't FDM printed is the core. After I broke the FDM core by accident (or pure dumbness for that matter), I casted another from a master I made on a ZCorp printer.

I found a case (it originally contained a masterball puzzle) that fits very nicely. With the stand in there it won't shift around, so hopefully it will survive my next meeting (coming sunday) better than some more unfortunate dominos

I've also made a video, but I got a rather low framerate from my webcam. Maybe this was due to AutoCAD running in the background. I'll try to use a different camera to make a new video soon.

NEW VIDEO

Looks very professional in that case! cool stickers too.
I knew shortly the helicopter could shape shift, but never actually saw it.
And what meeting are you talking about?

I will be getting caps, but it will be a while. And I think I would need to drive the screws in even further to fit them.

I wasn't referring to the Benelux, but I think I will also be there. In this case I was just talking about just a meeting, not a competition.

I'm sorry for bumping this topic, but I finally managed to shoot a video that is actually decent. Thanks to Stefan Pochmann (whose voice you can hear in the video).

Of course when I said "now it gets ugly" I meant that in a positive way, referring to the shape changing. It's a very fine puzzle and twists very smoothly. I hope next time I get a chance to play with it I'll have or take the time to do so.

Oh, I love the helicopter cube, I desperately want one

Good job on yours, it's beautiful, and I'm still trying to figure out how it changes shape

Beautiful cube, beautiful video

I agree with the whole "ugly but in a good way" comment, haha.
