On many forums that I've been to, when you run your cursor over the threads, a little yellow box comes up showing the first few sentences of the thread. I think this would be a great addition so people like Pembo (jk pembo) could see if the thread is worth reading.

On the other hand, people could simply use good thread subjects. Like "look at this" or "please help", which let's me know immediately that I'm not going to read it (not because I don't want to help, but because I won't spend time on someone who doesn't even bother choosing a good subject).

Good to know that I am the one being victimised here.

I wouldn't want this because the pages would take too long to load up. I can just look at who started the thread and also read the thread title to judge whether I want to read the thread or not.

I just like the way that I am one of the few willing to speak out about the dross on here but I get slated for it. I am only saying what you all thinking.

This is a good idea, but that means the entire website will have to go flash based... And that is very hard to do

Ofcourse there's no need for the whole website to be flash-based. You can simply use the title and alt HTML-attributes.

Or even better (i guess) on-hover/mouseover css/js, more flexible.
