Not in the "traditional" Rubik's sense, that's for sure. There are no doubt solutions to the problems that exist with 7x7x7 or greater cubes. The simplest solution I can think of is to encase the entire thing inside of a transparent sphere. Not as nice, but would definitely work. I can't figure out why someone hasn't already done that, actually.

It is something I considered when I first saw Mirko's puzzle.

http://www.twistymegasite.com/dobniks-cube.asp

I quickly rejected it because I couldn't work out how to turn the slices. Sandy, maybe you are thinking of something different to me.

Any nxnxn can be made in the shape of a sphere (like Rubiks World), but for large n it would have to be quite big or the slices would be difficult to turn.

No, don't think so! That link shows exactly the idea. I don't see why this idea can't be expanded to any odd N.

Yeah, that's true. But it would be pretty disproportionate. The 3x3x3 sphere is bad enough.

I guess the transparent sphere would suffer from the same problem, come to think of it.
