Very Very nice Wayne... Good job. Is it molded or do you sand each piece?

Thanks, guys, yeah I was thinking of either full-trunc or truncated trajber seeing that's essentially what it is. Maybe a vote is needed for Sandy's database on http://www.twistypuzzles.com. you're got it in one. It's a grinded puzzle and when you do the first set of cuts like the half-trunc, your point of reference starts to disappear. Accuracy is tougher to achieve.

Nice! The shape is a truncated octahedron, although the edges aren't all equal length, so it's not quite the Archimedean version, but it is still a truncated octahedron none the less.

I assume that you are filling the pieces? I was bouncing around the idea of using polyester to fill some pieces before cutting/grinding them. Just a touch of solid black dye would make it match well. Did you use polyester as well?

Another great puzzle! Nice colours too. As for a name, I'm not sure. Truncated octahedron is correct but there are others that can also be called that. How about full-trunc or over-trunc because it has deaper truncation than the cubeoctahedron?
When you get a chance, could you take a pic of all your 3x3x3 mods lined up. Thats something I would like to see ;)
Why is this one so much harder than the half trunc? Is it because its harder to see when to stop grinding?

Beautiful puzzle. How about calling it "Wayne's Whirl"?

Yep, polyester is the filler. Mix the proper black dye when it's in resin form and you won't have to do any colouring after.
