Hi all,
I have just finished my new mod.
I called it The "V cube" bacause of the shape of the middle piece + first letter of my name. :D
This is my first mod, where I made all pices, using sheet plastic, as opposed to milliput that I used in the past.
I hope you like it!
Vadim

looks almost like a dino cube type. Probably a skewb mod but it could be a rainbow cube one as well.
Amazing work Vadim!

Vadim, beautiful mod! I love the "V" idea. I guess you're becoming the master of Ufo, aren't you? 8-)

Good to see it finally done! :)

Beautifully made, and very professional (though I doubt there are pro puzzle builders :( ). Great job. Indeed you are becoming a new master of the UFO.

I'm very interested in seeing it scrambled.

Vadim mods Square-1s and UFOs, plus I have seen it's innards.

Pembo, that's cheating: I brought it to UK cube day with 2 pieces missing, so you could see ufo inside.
I guess first person to work it out was Aleksey! (Though he still didn't win it.)
Here is a scrambled(ish) picture.

Oh well can you usually tell the difference without this background knowledge?

The intersections of cuts across the puzzles.

With a Skewb, you get triangular and square (rectangle) pieces, and the crosses in between the pieces is only two lines.

The UFO has triangle pieces, plus there are 3 lines crossing at the 6 piece intersection.

Just a careful eye.

Nice build Vadim. Any chance we can also get a video?

Awesome build!!! This sort of reminds me of a dino cube and a Delta cube(granted the tips of your triangle go to the edge and not the corner) combine but it is still a UFO mechanism.

Great Mod!

I have been (vaguely) planning a skewb mod which looks quite similar, but somebody else will probably beat me to it because it is quite a low priority at the moment!

That would make it have a 2x2 as a core. This puzzle is based off of the Rubik's UFO.

I would sware the puzzle has the same cuts.
are any of the UFO pieces bandaged together?

It's a fully functional Rubik's UFO.

You can see the 'center points' of the six pieces, on this cube along opposite edges.

Aleh's Kite Cube for example is seen on opposite corners.

Hi Caleb,
No it doesn't. I was just afraid messing it up.
Now I have no idea how I can get it back to it's original state! (see pic).

In terms of internal mechanism, it's just a Rubik's UFO, placed diagonally inside the cube.

Could you solve one half of the puzzle intuitively?

If so, you could then begin using Pantazis' UFO algorithm to begin building the second half while swapping the same two pieces on the first half.

No use, I'm afraid.
I brought most of it into a cube shape, though the last 3 pieces keep sticking out like this:

Oh Vadim... you should stick to Skewb mods.
You can take those apart. :o

Well, try building three adjacent pieces together (on one half), then find the remaining three and what order they belong in. You can build those separately and then put the two 'halves of the half' together, then us the algorithm to solve the second half.

I wish I could play with it. :P Same with Aleh's Kite Cube.

I'm so sorry if I encouraged you to mess it up against your will. But then again, what is a puzzle if you don't scramble it at least once? I know, I know, a piece of artwork, i agree.

Hi Caleb,
I'm not really cross. I always have mixed feelings about messing up tricky puzzles, but then I'll do it sooner or later! It just happened sooner! :D
I got it into cube shape last night. Now I just have to solve the colours! :D

Joey, I new someone will come up with an offer to solve it. I'm almost there though, cheers!
