Is there any reason you don't want to do it? It would be a contribution you could make.

Wait!!! How did my name get on here? Is it because of my post count or is it because I'm the 14th member here? Trust me I just barely get by on knowing how to use my expensive toys. If I did do a newsletter I'd also have the knowledge to put a website up which a couple people and I also would love to have up but I don't know how to.

I have started writing a Newsletter for November 2007. I'll try to release it on the 1st of December.
Until then, either post your email here or PM me the email with the topic title "Newsletter".

So my name is on your list. I don't know how it got there but that's ok. I think that there could be some sort of rotation for this. I wouldn't mind doing this, and we wouldn't need a webpage, we can do something simple on google docs and have it open for everyone to view. Rather then a newsletter, it would be more like a news section.

I personally love getting some sort of magazine each month and I would love a newsletter purely devoted to puzzles. I guess some of the reason there is no newsletter is because Sandy is busy. I think someone elso could do it just as good like: George, Kastellorizo, Darren, Scott, emr1028, Mr. Twisty, Pembo.......and the list goes on.
This site used to be a newsletter by itself.
Until a wave of chit-chat posts came in...
Therefore, the solution is more like stopping those chit-chats rather than trying to clear up the good posts from the rubbish ones and make a "newsletter".
For someone to make a proper newsletter, it will take:
1. a lot of time (something most of us - including me - don't have),
2. a nice PDF (or even Powerpoint) file,
3. people who are familiar with many rare (or not) puzzles,
4. definitely more than one person.
All in all, it should be an organised effort, not just some bunch of links (which is basically some sort of filtering the useful messages from the chit chats).
Pantazis
PS Last year, we were on the works to do something like this, but then I realised that this site combined with the CFF is good enough, at least for me.

Just for the record,
I have begun writing the letter and Dlitwin has been helping edit. Sometime around the 27-29th of this month we would like another guest editor to revise it once more before it is mailed on the 1st of December.
I will also post it as a thread and you can subscribe if you like what you see.

As Pantazis recommend, you could always just make it on Word and then make it a PDF.
I'll be willing to help you Noah, I can even help write some columns if you need any extras hands, just PM me.

I would also be willing to help out too. I've got some experience in this stuff.

I think all the people that wish to write a newsletter should put their name into a list and either Sandy or another Moderator could choose someone to write the newsletter for that month, that way everyone could have a chance!

Indeed. I've been so busy with exams and the holidays (I still have to register for my second semester and finish holiday shopping!) I haven't even started. I've already got volunteers for the puzzle building section, but I'm sure I could find something if you would like.
