Looks like a well built puzzle! Probably better than a production puzzle. The guy is a genius!

It is a Rubik UFO.
This has to be adapted though to get the proportions right.

Anthony used a Rubik's UFO. He used PVC sheets to cover the UFO pieces and make the cheese pieces.

I've been planning on fusing a UFO with a Square-1 sometime soon to get a fully functional 2-Layer Star Prism. Very much the same sort of thing you did!
