Every gaming forum I've been on has had an accomplishments thread. When you do something amazing and you wanna tell everyone, no matter how little it may seem... It could be a sub-10 average, or you finally solved the snake into a ball after 6 hours of thought. Just thinking this would probably go well on this forum so everyone can brag without feeling like you suck, and you people can be supportive and brag as well... and it would all stay in one thread.

Sound like a good idea? It works great on every other gaming forum I've been to.

Just went sub-6 with the professor (5:46.02) and that makes me super happy.

I can finally solve the Astrolabacus.

I solved the megaminx with some help from the ppl here .

I finally can solve the 4x4x5 (As well as most cuboids).

I can solve the 3x3x3 - 5x5x5. Most cuboids. Still working on the 2x3x4 though Super cubes - 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 (haven't worked on the 5x5x5 yet). Skewbs and Super Skewbs (Except the Golden Cube, which I don't have). Megaminx, Pyraminx, Tetraminx I can solve as well.

Pucks, Square-1, and a few other mods I haven't got to solve yet... but still working on it.

as far as time goes - the 5x5x5 I guess is my best accomplishment. I don't speedcube, so it's still good for me. I guess I'm around 5-7 minutes (I've never timed myself - but I did make a bet I could solve it under 10 minutes which of course I won!)

I got a nonlucky sub-5 on 5x5x5 one-handed today. I'm very happy about that.

If I can be bothered, I can fully learn about 10 OLLs in about an hour.

Just got a 19.99 avg on the 2x2. Objectively, this is terrible, but it's very fast for me - I've never seriously practiced the 2x2, and was getting very variable times from 20 to 50. Today I picked it up to solve it once, and it was really fast so I decided to take an average, and came out with this. Ironically, I forgot to reset Jnetcube beforehand, and my last solve, in which i messed up the last step, was worse than the 3x3 solve that it replaced.

What method are you using for the 2x2, Arakron? I use the Ortega method, which is quite fast and only uses about 15 algorithms. If you want to learn it, I can give you a link.

Oh, and I managed to do a one-handed relay (2+3+4+5) which just barely fit on the Stackmat's timing system (9:55.60, the Stackmat turns off at 10 minutes). That's a pretty major accomplishment for me.

My method is intuitive first layer, 3-cycle PLL, (anti)sune OLL. I'll probably learn the Ortega method at some point, but I'd like to finish learning all the fridrich F2l and 4-look LL algs first.

you should just learn intuitive f2l. and 4 look LL should be very EZ.
Use F R U R' U' F' for the edges. if you aren't already.

I learned to solve 2x2-4x4 in three days and my average for the 3x3 is under two minutes. That may not sound like much but i'm using a layer begginer method.

I'm starting to get into BLD (2-cycle). At the moment, I'm just doing the edges. I just did my first full edge solve. I need to get this down, then Im going on to learn corners.

There's nothing wrong with that method. I got down to 45 seconds with it. I then learned some F2L shortcuts and half moved to Fridrich and now I'm at 35 with a partial layer by layer method.

I solved a chinese megaminx without it popping!!! YAY!!

That's incredible. Not just for the time, but for accomplishing it at all! I can't make a single turn on a 5x5x5 one-handed, let alone solve one! Maybe I have small hands?

Well, for everything but the 3x3x3, I use Eastsheen cubes. They're much, much easier to turn with one hand, although you have to align the layers correctly for each turn (so it takes practice, not strength, to do turns quickly).

Yesterday, I was just practicing F2L, and got a best time of 12.94(just for F2L)!

I finally managed to get my average down below 26.1! I got 25.64, beating Emile in the process

I also got a new snake PB and average, although i was only going for PB. I got 6.14 PB and 7.36 avg!

I have broke the sub 2:50 barrier with my 4x4 cage method, and I am at a 3:00 average.

I gots a new average of 24.77! ha, i should be at 23 seconds soon, for some reason it is as if i have broken down a wall, faster times are coming to me more easily now!

This is sad for me. I really have to pick up the pace...

My newest accomplishment!

I've restickered my cube (again, jesus), and thanks to it, I have gotten an average of around 59.5 seconds. Yay for sub 1 minute! (3x3x3 of course)

My late accomplisments:
Solve sub-25 with Roux method ( I use Fridrich normaly )
Average sub-1:20 with K4 method (for 4x4, I use centers edges 3x3 normaly)
Average sub-1:50 with cage method (for 4x4)

Actualy I don't know why I am practising doing other methods...

Well, it never hurts to get good at other methods. If you're equally fast with centers-edges and K4 on the 4x4x4, for example, you might sometimes get a case where it's a lot easier to do the first step of K4 than the first step of centers, so K4 will be faster for that solve. It's just like knowing both OLL/PLL and CLL/ELL.


In other news, I got my first sub-24 average on the 3x3x3. I've only recently started to seriously get into the 3x3x3 for speedsolving (initially it was only to improve my 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 times but now I'm more into it) but I'm making some good progress, and I hope to be sub-20 by Worlds.

there are a lot of blindfold guides out there, just google it or something...

Speed blindfold = only solving time counts. So people usually use a speedsolving method for that, it's not the same as regular BLD.

I am averaging my normal times today, although I have only had 1 hour sleep in the past 30 hours.

Pembo, I made it a goal to break my best average after staying awake for 50 hours.

kyle.... you know that going without sleep for 2 days is nearly impossible, and EXTREMELY unhealthy, right? Like, to the point of you literally dying from exhaustion...

i used to sleep 30 - 60 minutes a day. I felt fine? besides people have stayed awake for years and not felt a thing.

Out of choice? I'm not a huge sleeper, but I still like more then 4 hours!

Seen the machinist? Its a good film about a guy who doesnt sleep for a year.

guiness doesn't go looking for records, people come to them. So people who don't really "care" about having the record won't go around saying "i stayed up for years"

I'll go with Pembo on this one. Sleep naturally restores the human bodies energy, so without it you will eventually run out and die. Either way, not sleeping for long periods sucks, and isn't really recommended by anyone

I got a best time of 43.72, avg 3/5 50.05, avg 10/12 53.52, avg of 100 63.90, using fridrich f2l (intuitive), ~5-6 look LL (4-look is my next priority). This is a rather drastic change from my old method of working corner 3 pairs, then orient then permute last 5 edges, then permute then orient last 5 corners (Jeays' beginner solution #2). All of these times are fast approaching their old-method counterparts, about a week after the switch. I'm very excited to hopefully get sub-50 this week.

My PB was 1.85, Im catching up!

Something I was doing today when waiting for CS:S to load up, I got a 1.44, then some time later, a 1.43, and now a 1.37.

That is 10.2 TPS, I reckon sub3 is possible for me.

How do you do it so fast? My cube must be sloooooow because I know I can move my fingers at at least 7 tps. My record for T is 2.42 seconds. Seriously, I'm very slow on 3x3x3.

But I'm much faster at 5x5x5 (which I practice more anyway). I now hold the UWR for 5x5x5 with one hand (4:39.58). That's nice. I wish people would do this more, though, because sub-4 ought to be possible for a top speedcuber.
