Ok I'll bite, where did you get the ufo type puzzle
from? I looked at the rubics.com site and they do not
show it.

The site Michael gave also sells a 8-tile Homer Simpson Rubik's Magic puzzle and a 2x2x2 Homer Simpson head (like Darth Maul) puzzle.

Here's the exact link for the previously mentioned puzzles:

Just so I don't get anyone too hyped up...
The Simpson puzzles are only available for order and won't be available until August/September. I guess most of us will have to wait.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait for the Rubik's UFO 'till the end of august...
like in the real world, every one has heard of UFO, but few have actually seen them !! ;-))

I placed my order monday, at the time they had 997 in stock, as of today they have only 957,
so I guess 40 "Twisty-Megasite-goers" followed my link !!!

Just goes to show how many people come back to the Trading/discussion post.

I was sent a pre-production model as a prototype by a "source". If it's any consolation to you guys, your model will turn a little better than mine, come September.

Mine is a first draft, or beta version I guess you could say.

But I have to say this... it's a fantastic puzzle, and has a similar feel in concept to the square-1, but is somehow harder.

I can't believe they sold these UFO/cheese puzzles as "in-stock" items and now have switched our orders to "Pre-Order" status. I hope I find this puzzle for cheaper from someone else in the meantime. Then I will cancel my order from aworldofnovelty.

Oh well, at least I have my name in for one so I don't have to spend a million dollars for one on Ebay if they suddenly run out and quit production like the Dogic.

I just checked the site, and the sale of these puzzles by aworldofnovelty on Amazon.com has ended. It appears that they have sold pre-orders for 48 of the original 1000 offered. I'm not sure what this means. Maybe that's all that will be made. Maybe they won't release it to production. Who knows?

They were offering puzzles not yet for sale, i.e. the Bart Simpsons Puzzle heads, and Simpsons Magic,
I guess theses puzzles will be available in the fall, (They quote: late august, beginning september).
Most probably 48 persons did exactly what we did and ordered a Rubik's UFO, and probably received the same message from Amazon.
Stating that they were taking pre orders...

What I don't understand, is why in the world Hessport isn't talking about theses up-coming puzzles,
after all they sell the complete line of Rubik's puzzles online ?
Will they be made By Oddzon ?
Will they be available easily available at any toy store ? by Hessport ?

I purchased a Rubik's Rings almost 3 years ago, one year before they were offered for sale at Hessport !
So, I guess only time will tell...
:)

As far as the UFO/cheese puzzle goes, yesterday the site said that they aren't even taking the pre-orders anymore at Amazon.com. Today, the site has been completely removed! Something seems very fishy.

In addition, the UFO puzzle was supposed to be manufactured by a company called "Winning Moves", not Oddzon. The rubik cube and snake that are on Amazon are also made by Winning Moves even though the packaging looks identical to Oddzon's. Maybe both companies have purchased permission for using the Rubik trademark. Or, maybe Oddzon and Winning Moves are the same company. Once again, who knows.

The Amazon site doesn't specify who is the maker of the Simpson puzzles.

I don't know exactly how Hessport is related to Oddzon. I suspect that they just provide a service for selling Rubik products on Oddzon's site. What about Winning Moves then? How do they fit in the picture?

I don't know... Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it might be considerably easier than Square 1. I think it would solve very similar (but easier) to a Masterball. It would be like a two-layer (instead of the standard four-layers) masterball but with only 6 slices (3 cuts) instead of 8 slices (4 cuts). Does this make sense? Also, you don't have all the funky shapes that the Square-1 is capable of.

I don't have such a tough time with the square one. It does take me a while but with the UFO/Cheese, i'm not getting it yet. There's nowhere to hide the pieces. I dunno... it's just taking me a while to solve.

Yeah, I know what you mean, Wayne. I still can't solve my (don't laugh) hockeypuck puzzle despite its apparent simplicity; yet I have no problem with the Masterball.
