Puzzle/Game/Toy industry. Before I just join the discusses, and now I have a lot of puzzles to trade.

OK I am now convinced the sliding puzzle has existed for some time now.

I dug out my copy of Rubik's cubic compendium (published 1986). The concept of a 3d sliding cube is discussed in this book and a 2x2x2 model illustrated. Apparantly, both Rubik and Singmaster independently came up with the idea of a 3D sliding puzzle, but both discovered Piet Hein (of Soma fame) had beaten them to it at an earlier date.

Thank you for your information. I know what your misunderstanding is now.

I NEVER said that I am the inventor of ¡§Sliding Puzzle¡¨. I just said I am the inventor of a
special sliding puzzle which has the special features below:

(1). When the puzzle was solved, the missing space is hidden in the middle, not at corner.

(2). The player can manipulate the small cubes of the special sliding puzzle to be in one of the
perfect combinations. In each perfect combination, each side of the puzzle shows a complete
image - a solid colour, a full-size picture, or a complete graph, etc.

(3). Any small cube of the special sliding puzzle can be pushed into the middle, and fall down
to a adjacent position other than where it was from.

(4). We can stand the solved special sliding puzzle on a cup with two opposite corner in the
vertical line and keep the missing space in the middle.

Can you find these features from your books ? I guess the examiners had searched more books
than you had searched, but I would still be glad to be taught.

There may be many PATENTS exist in similar products together, if the inventors can distinguish
their novel ideas from the existing ones, and they invented the inventions with inventive steps.

If an executive found something interesting but maybe not novel, and bet it would not be patented,
then he decided to manufacture it, that is a very dangerous business.
