Finally I'll be in the area! Anywhere in Berkeley's fine for me.
I'm pretty sure any time works for me and for what to see, cool puzzles of course.

Berkeley would be my preferred location as well, I will start my search here. I'll be bringing some cool puzzles of my own, I'm sure many others will as well!

I'm in! I'd be happy to come over to Berkeley, and July 5th or 12th would both work for me.

This is great news! My FTRD is in shambles but I am going to have to fix it up for the meet-up now.

I think the 5th works best for me, I think Berkeley would be great. We could try to figure something out on campus or perhaps Games of Berkeley again, depending on the group size and time.

Jason? Bram? Brandon? Bob? Nan? What works for you guys?

Dave

Berkeley it is then and let's set July 5th as the official date, unless a venue is not available, I am thinking we should start the meet-up around 1:00 pm?

Dave I will work with you on getting a venue near Berkeley locked down! Just let me know how I can help.

I had forgotten that is July 4th weekend so people may have plans, but let's see who can make it. Projected attendance will help determine a proper location but Games of Berkeley is definitely worth consideration.

Right now we have six people who have confirmed for either date, maybe seven if my girlfriend comes along. Anyone who would like to come please RSVP by posting on the thread or PM me.

I am thinking of making a meeting gift, depending on the number in attendance, not sure if there is enough time for it though.

Also if anyone wants to go who lives in the Sacramento Area, contact me via PM and I may be able to give you a ride!

I can't do the fourth of July weekend. I could do Sunday the 22nd of June at my house in San Rafael. Plenty of room for people to chat and puzzle.

Just offering this up if my location and date are just as good.

I have a wedding to attend this weekend so I would not be able to come. Thank you for offering that up, it would be perfect if not for the date.

Are you available July 12th because we can still do this date.

That would work for me. Could the others attending please respond to this post if you would be available the 29th. I am going to call Games of Berkeley tomorrow as well if we do love forward with July 5th. I would love to include everyone, but I know that is not always possible.

It has not been finalized yet, but I called Games of Berkeley and they were willing to host our event July 5th at 4:00 p.m. I will let everyone know once this has been set in stone. I am very excited to meet you all!

I live at downtown Berkeley. I'll just walk there. Do we welcome the speed cubing society at Berkeley? There are many people here.

This sounds fun and I have lots of puzzles I'd like to share. I'm in Phoenix and CA seems close but a quick check on google tells me this would be an 11.5 hour drive. Ouch...

OK, Kevin reserved us a spot at Games of Berkeley at 4:00pm.
This will be downstairs, the same place we had a meet up back in 2008.

I am looking forward to it!

I cannot wait to meet you all this weekend! I am bringing my favorite puzzles as well as a small box of random mass produced puzzles, that I would like to sell cheap or trade, including a jade cube and other meffert's puzzles I have duplicates of.

See everyone this Saturday!

I want to make a special request to see Drew's DRD, I believe you finished this as a DIY. Also, I have never seen a dogic in person if that is not too much trouble to bring along. And of course your elemental or other personal creations must be there as well!

Any request for me?

I have a 10 color dogic I could bring.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be getting a certain jumbling puzzle before the meetup. Would others happen to have a puzzle with a trigonal bipyramid axis system?

Excited to see everyone!

DRD and Dogic, no problem. A few puzzles I build too. Perhaps some hand built puzzles later mass produced.

I'm on the fence about going, because I'd love to see some of these puzzles in "person" and meet some folks who share my interests, but I'm also a newbie and would feel a little awkward if I show up and everybody else is, like, Super Puzzler or something. Any other neophytes planning to attend?

I would definitely come if I were you! This is a very nice group of people, I was only 14 years old when I met most of them and they were so nice to me. There will definitely be some amazing puzzles you will get to see that you may never see again! Schuma mentioned some speed cubers might come so there will be others who do not build or collect for sure!

Hope to see you there!

You got it! I started a puzzle, so I'll polish some pieces so you can see the surface finish without stickers.

What an awesome meetup! Kevin showed off the results of his magical casting abilities (mirror finish!), Bram got me hooked on interlocking puzzles with a prototype and a couple Hanayama suggestions, I showed off my progress on the AutoSolver (one face turns 360!), and we somehow convinced Jason to let Dave juggle 3 of his massive puzzles. I didn't get any pictures, but here's a video of that last bit.

http://youtu.be/QmyMZx8XonE

We should totally do this more often!

Great meet up, thanks to Kevin (Kuhrik) for planning it!

I didn't take many pictures as Myke had the better camera. We'll all have to wait for him to post. He disappeared right as we were going to dinner. Myke, where did you go?
Thanks for Oxford Comma for joining us, I hope you found it as non-awkward as promised :)

Everyone was so nice and welcoming! I hope to see more of you!

I was just astonished at the awesome variety of puzzles there. Some were puzzles I'd never expected to see anywhere other than in pictures, so it was kind of like meeting celebrities of sorts.

I feel all inspired now--so much I want to learn! Thanks for making this happen.

Thanks again to everyone who came to the meet-up! These meet-ups are truely a testiment to how strong our TP community is. I enjoyed talking to all of you and I only wish we had more time! The people there really made this event the highlight of my summer so far. I hope to do this again soon! Here are a few pictures I took, again I do not have a great camera and I was having way too much fun to take more pictures.

There were so many awesome puzzles there. Brandon brought the PAW Pentultimate, which is probably the most perfect printed puzzle I have ever held, he has made great strides with the WSF material. Eitan had all of his beutiful and crazy designs which all turned flawlessly, and I even took home one of his master curvy copters! Dave's elemental puzzles are truely a work of art and are one of my favorite to play with. Myke was quite the photographer and had a few nice collection piecces I had never seen before. Bram had a few of his awesome designs with him, it always amazes me how many designs one man can think of. It was good to see the master of solving puzzles Shuma as well. Stan had quite a few interesting puzzles to show. Jason brought buckets of custom puzzles, in which many I only dreamed of playing with, and his radiolarians were the most intimidating puzzles I have ever seen. A huge thanks and welcome to Emily for showing up, I would have never known you are new to the community!

These are a few new additions to my collection as well!

This was my favorite puzzle there. An original hand cast teraminx.

You all are very lucky to live so close to each other! I wish I could have more meet ups :)

BTW, to all you new puzzlers - don't ever feel like you wouldn't belong at a meet up. If you have any interest in puzzles, everyone at a meet up would be thrilled to show you their collections and stuff. This is our hobby and there aren't too many people with this hobby, so just being able to show it to others who are interested is a great feeling!

I agree wholeheartedly with what Darryl has said. There are no greater people than the puzzlers I've met. Fear of going along to a meet is unfounded. I've always felt welcome at every puzzle meet up I've ever been to. Even with those guys that play with those burr things. we all have a common hobby and it is always a nice way to meet new people.

Great meet up, thanks to Kevin (Kuhrik) for planning it!

I didn't take many pictures as Myke had the better camera. We'll all have to wait for him to post. He disappeared right as we were going to dinner. Myke, where did you go?
Dave

Yeah! It was great seeing people again and seeing new puzzles.
I also didn't take all that many pictures since the puzzles themselves were too distracting but I'll post them soon.
Unfortunately, I missed where people were having dinner while in the bathroom so headed home afterwards.

I'm pretty sure it was Jason. He had a bunch more awesome puzzles but there were too many to take pictures of.
