Wow! That certainly is an accomplishment. I've met you in person, so. Know that you are a bright young mind, much like the other youngsters of the forum and community in general. :D

I'm a terrible solver on my own. But I impressed myself by figuring out the Curvy Copter Plus on my own. Now to refine some of the sequences to make it more reasonable.

Closed eye and open eye puzzle finally scrambled and solved!

Open eye is more of a challenge than the closed eye, in my opinion. They are FUN!

Could you explain why the open eye is more of a challenge?

Because OF the eyes :) Placement for one and the little challenge of figuring out the eyes. Don't want to reveal too much here, but I didn't know anything about the puzzle before I scrambled it, and it was a cool thing to discover on my own :)

The first two times I solved Eitan's Star, I had rline's awesome tutorial queued up on my phone, and I checked it quite regularly.

I am happy to say that I have now solved it two more times WITHOUT using the tutorials! My solve time is still sitting around 5 to 6 hours, including screw-ups.

I am delighted to say that I have solved Traiphum's Hexaminx crystal.
It is only a cubic transformation of a pyraminx crystal but really messed with my head. I really struggled with the parity (one single flipped edge) which was caused by the reversibility of a few of the edges and also the standard pyraminx crystal 2 flipped edge issue!

Intuitively solved David's OctoCube. I didn't encounter any parity, that could be luck, or my approach. I used the same method for solving my PentaMix.

Finally solved my Gear Cube Extreme! In retrospect, it's not nearly as difficult as I once thought. I also used the pieces from my 2nd, broken Gear Cube Extreme to make Oskar's Even Less Gears. I solved it as well, though it's not much more difficult.

Well, after a little embarrassment due to my complete lack of knowledge regarding dino type puzzles, at long last I have finally solved the Bauhinia.

Given that this was my first go at any sort of "dino" / "rex" type puzzle, I'm super pumped. :D

Yay!! Just solved the bermudaminx Saturn. Granted it IS the easiest, but it is still a very cool puzzle :D

hello

After reading that Kattenvriendin had solved the saturn bermudaminx and that she said it is the easy one, I ordered mine. Just solved it without any tutorials or anyones advice. Wow, what a feeling. Loved every moment of trying to work out wher each piece goes and how to move it into position. Its another way of solving a normal megaminx. Can anyone recommend which one in the series I should solve next. Like a step up from the saturn. I know that Mercury a d Neptune are the hardest, but what would be in the middle.

It can be a sneaky puzzle, but in the end it does solve the same way, you just have to look around for the possibilities :)

Solved the Curvy Copter Plus on my own :D
I found a 16-move sequence to orient the inner triangles and a 5 move sequence to permute them afterwards. After that it was just a Curvy Copter solve (although a corner-swap parity came up, but that was a simple fix).

Since I haven't been really into puzzles for too long (about a year) and I've mainly just focused on collecting fairly basic puzzles, I haven't mastered the art of solving puzzles intuitively. But I got something a little more out there (at least for me) in the witeden 4x4x4 mixup plus and solved it twice without any help or prior knowledge of the puzzle. Definitely one of my proudest moments and I'm extremely happy I have a community to discuss this with that will understand this feeling.

I solved the square one up to the parity and then got some help from superantoniovivaldi :D
I knew exactly what was wrong so I didn't feel too bad about looking up the answer instead of spending the next week on it.

Solved the Witeden sq224. Wasn't even sure I should buy this puzzle considering how much I hated the super square one and the few similarities they have. But I was pretty satisfied after I solved this one. Certainly getting better at solving puzzles.

Hello

I have just solved my Jupiter Bermudaminx. Fantastic. I'm hooked on these puzzles now. This one was really fun. I had to decide on what order to do the "F2L" in. I used the Pink, Red and Cream faces to do the last layer.
I have ordered the remaining 6 planets in the series.

ps
Martywolfman, if you are looking to get the Mercury bermudaminx, I found it for sale at Cubedepot. The shipping is expensive, but everywhere else has sold out! Just go to the mf8 section.
here is the link.

It's sold out there too :( I was meant to have one, but they sent the wrong one, and now it seems to be sold out everywhere. If I'd known it was close, I would have oerdered this one earlier

Well done on the Jupiter, very fun puzzle!

hello

I ordered this from the same seller on ebay, and had to wait nearly two weeks before he sent me an email saying that the warehouse was sold out and that he had issued me with a refund.
I have again checked cubedepot and it is still for sale.

Marty, did you try the link I gave you? for some reason when I try it I can order it.
I am using my ipad, if it makes any difference. You got me worried now. Maybe they have sent me something else? Did they give you a refund when they sent the wrong one?
I've never had any problems with them before. I have emailed them to check their stock to see if they have any in.

It wasn't cubedepot that sent me the wrong one, it was another store, they are sending me a different one in the series, as I requested, instead of a refund.

The link you supplied just goes to the home page, not a specific product. When I go to the mercury product page, I can't place an order.

I scrambled and solved a 7x7 using only 180 degree turns. It was really interesting coming up with a solution. The edge pairing was the most enjoyable part. :D

I made it all the way around the Perplexus Epic! Not a full loop to 125.. that would take insane patience.. but I completed every challenge by using the 3 `practice` stations.

Today I found a commutator for each piece on the dayan gem IV so in theory I can solve the puzzle! I will try my method tomorrow!

After a hyatus, during which I found no time to solve new puzzles, a couple of days ago I completed the Curvy Starminx for the third time in a few days.

Method: Corners (floweminx-like), then edges (commutator), then centers (same commutator, repeated three times), and finally star tips (used a 3-cycle of tips, based on a commutator that "isolates" a tip on an equator, so it is a [[1,1],1] thing if you count a slice move as 1 - and a lot of patience).

First time I had to start over 3 times, second time only once, third time went straight from scrambled to solved without errors. Third time I used a different 3-cycle of tips, the one given by wintercuber viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25876

Just received a myriad of puzzles yesterday, most notably the 234 bandaged mf8 cube and the helicopter cube. solved both within the next day. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to work around the bandaging and solve it. also, back in they day, I came up with my own method for the mixup puzzles, and that along with finding solutions to all the camouflage cubes I see as my biggest puzzlesolving achievements to date.
