I recently finished my first mod. A 2x4x4. I'm happy with how it turned out.It looks good. I put quite a few coats on it. It was nice and black and glossy. After it was fully painted. I washed any debris out and dried and reassembled and as I was solving it I noticed it smelled AWFUL. Like paint and sweat. And it's a little glossier than I'd like. So I was wondering what brands do other American modders use? This was Kylon fusion glossy black btw. And what techniques do you guys use? Do you tape off your internals? Just sit them all out and paint away or what? Clear coat? Thanks.

Not American but replying anyway because I am a rebel like that.

Tape off the internals if possible, paint disassembled preferably and smell goes away after a week or two.

If it is too glossy, next time don't use glossy ;) I don't know how to dull it out unfortunately.

I apply two layers of clear coat on my puzzles, but I love them glossy :)
