Cube Day this year took place in Voorburg near Den Haag (The Hague) on Sunday 20th October. Here are my early snaps. I will add more later plus videos.
It was great to meet everyone again and thanks to all those who made my bags a little lighter.
The speedcubing contest was won predictably by Mats Valk who dominated most events. The quickest time I saw was is 6.61

It was a great day. First stop: Tony, immediately left after the entrance, purchased four puzzles.
Visited Oskar and José afterwards, thank you for the hospitality, managed to solve a weird pentamino puzzle.

Anyway, this is what I got
Image
23 puzzles, 3 sticker sets, 1 book, 1 lube.
Thank you Oliver for the custom sticker set on such short notice.

Wow, I didn't realize just how big DCD is! Wish I was there. Yeah, those wooden magics look pretty neat. Is there a place to get them in the states at all?

Your Mondriaan Pattern would be e very good idea :-)
But it's a bump cube sticker mod psted by Volitar Prime in 2009. Oliver did an efficient job in arranging the stickers per color!

(Kattenvriendin is right, she posted while I typed my reply...)

I *almost* managed to come, but for several reasons I could not make it. Too bad. It seems it was a great event. Next year, perhaps...

Hi Friends!

It was great to met with you again!
It was one of the best cube days aver (what I participate).
I also took some photos. they are available from my facebook site
But there is one what I did not upload there. It is the photos from the puzzles I brought home.

Yes, we also felt the positive spirit around of everyone who was so glad to meet all the puzzle friends once again. We really enjoyed it to be there and share our experiences and of course the puzzles. Here you can find the impressions from the DCD and also from the PPP at the evening before:

My first DCD was the 33rd since 1981.
It was a 1000 km drive for me (one way), but from Frankfurt onwards we were two and got Andreas on board as the third man in Koblenz.
Thanks to everybody for the warm welcome!

It was a great event for me.

I met the first twisty aficionado on my last birthday (Roberto = mocenigo) when we had our little PAW meeting in Munich.
And now so many more. :D

Here are some pictures from Saturday evening. You might guess who our host was. Thanks to him and his wife for the great hospitality!:

In the background you see a famous video studio:

Frank is enjoying the many puzzles he brought with him in a big box :

Image

Tom is unfortunately not on the pictures but some of his puzzles - and naturally Oskar's as well.
Oskar is investigating a Tony Fisher puzzle:

Oliver's table after I bought my first puzzle head (a penguin) from him:

Tony got a lot of attention (and I got a puzzle from him):

Oskar and Tom:

Andreas and Claus discussing a new prototype:

Claus' pictures hadn't revealed that his Master Olidjus is so big (and remember, Andreas' hands are not so small):

During lunchtime it got a bit more quiet:

Thanks again to everybody and my special thanks to Hüseyin who drove me back to Frankfurt and to Andreas and him for the nice company!!!

Mmmh. Chocolate ... some delicous chocolate mushrooms and also an interesting mushroom puzzle --- this comment from me, who doesn't like mushrooms at all! :)

Was a nice and exciting DCD, thank you all!

Thanks to all the members who posted photos and told this Dutch cube day. It is very pleasant to be able to participate in it so, because I could not go there. Thank you.

Thanks for the great pictures. It's really nice to see community gatherings like this and DCD looks to be one of the best.

The second and final part of my Dutch Cube Day video is now up- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm2iq1nvxQo . The aim was to record as many of the puzzles and tables as possible. Unfortunately people kept getting in my way (how dare people walk around looking at stuff!) so I took to the air for the second part of the video.
The below photo (sorry about the quality) shows Frank's table among others. I am very pleased to have provided him with a nice stand for his netbook.
