Finally I can show you all my latest custom build. I found the thing in the museum and Martywolfman begged me to make that for him, so.. what does a good loving girlfriend do? She makes him one of course! Here are a bunch of pictures. It was the first time I used plastic sheeting, it is 1mm thick, perfect for what I wanted to use it for.

I have reinforced the corners that were used for the fuse to siamese. On the left you see a normal corner piece. In order to fit the edge piece in I had to make room and cut a bit of the corner stalk off. However that leaves too little material to properly keep things stable so I grabbed milliput, rolled a worm of the stuff and put it in the stalk base and down into the corner cubie. Then I wiggled the edge piece in there to make just enough room for that thing, glued the three parts together and let them dry a full night before even touching it again.

Almost done, the extended pieces have been glued on, all that is left are the little triangular pieces to fill the shape up.

I contemplated working the thing further to smoothen things out, but as the stickers we ordered fit perfectly fine and hid most of the scratches from sanding we decided to leave things as they were. You cannot even see them anymore. One beautiful puzzle alright, it was a lot of fun to build. Scary to use the sheet that first time, but I soon realized that there was nothing to it and most of the time used actually resides in making the cubie itself to size. Gluing and sanding the cap's sides was easy as pie.

Of course it isn't perfect, but it made someone VERY happy alright :D

Here is the video Martywolfman made of it.

Thanks for watching :D

Stunning!
Until you realise exactly what it is, it looks a really tough puzzle to solve!

Yep, it's awesome, I love it! :D

It's not TOO difficult to solve, but I didn't find it trivially easy either, it's a typical kind of sticker/shape mod that skews your perspective and take a while to figure out what needs to go where.

Who can say that about her puzzle?
Definitely worth every piece of plastic.
Quite a "loving" puzzle.
