Long time I was looking to buy a 66 cube. Now I found and bought a very special "awesome" masterpiece.
Here it is with some more wooden puzzles.

Andreas, you don't have any extra work with this pictures.

Wow, that 66 cube weighs 8kg! Do you have any more information about it or a link to a webpage?

Gus, I only got following offer/informations from the seller:

*****************
Giant Cube Puzzle
*****************

Some 20 years ago, Maurice Vigouroux made some giant-sized puzzles in Carolina pine. Among them were two copies of Bill Cutler's famous design, the 66-piece Cube.
With a size of 24x24x24 cm and a weight of 8 kg, these monsters rightfully deserve the adjective of giants !
Today, with kind permission of Bill, these puzzles are available for sale.

They were one of Maurice Vigouroux's first realizations. At that time, neither wax nor varnish was used, and the edges were not beveled.
Carolina pine is a very stable wood, suited for complex mechanical designs. The puzzles work very well.
A wood caring product was applied to enhance the natural colour of the puzzle.

They are sold with Bill's 18-page booklet featuring a presentation of the puzzle, its history and instructions for disassembly and reassembly.
Maurice's 11-page documentation is also provided, as well as a fully functionnal Burrtools file.

Dimentions : 24x24x24 cm.
Weight : 8 kg
Wood : Carolina pine
Finish : wood care product applied on the raw pine.
Condition : 20 years old. Perfectly clean. Never used. The first piece to move had a sticker and still bears a mark

Hi Claus,

Your unknown puzzle is called "Odd Ball" and I believe it is produced by a defunct company in California called Four Generations, circa early 1970's. I have one with package - I will have to dig it out of storage to check. The owner of that company was Richard Zbinden, with whom I have corresponded by email.

I classified it as a route-finding puzzle since you have to figure out how to exploit passages internal to the block to rearrange the marbles by color.
Of course, it also has aspects of dexterity and sequential movement.

Congrats on acquiring Bill's Cube! Have you attempted to take it apart yet? Mine still sits in an intermediate state with no element free :-(

Now I know it is by Bill Cutler I can find some links to it, like this one. It looks like it would be a beast to take apart (and put together). I hope you have the instructions!

Claus, if you need the documentation, then I can send it to you if you wish.

Here's my version - made longer ago by a different craftsman:

Rob, thank you for helping me to identify the unknown puzzle.
Kevin, thanks for your offer. But I have all informations from Bill and Maurice. But I will solve it without reading.

Claus, very nice puzzle additions! A Cutler Cube, then a Binary Burr, and then a Generation Lock! Not to mention all those "normal" sized wooden cubes and TICs ... :)

Compared to the Binary Burr and Generation Lock (already big puzzles), this Cutler Cube is HUGE!

Below the Generation Lock, that must be the laminated version of my article I heard about, the article in which I derived the number of moves. over 340 million moves is just crazy. :o

@Kevin, what is the manufacturer of your Cutler cube? Was it Bill himself or Jerry? What size is it?
