Dear friends, costumers!

With my IT college, we are working on a new webshop for my stickers since a few weeks.
(new design, easier search, more stable and safer system)

I have a question of your preference regarding the postal fee. It is really hard to make a decision how I will calculate it.

See poll above.

Just some extra informations of the possible choices:

- Fix postal fee / region
Easy to calculate, cheaper for larger orders

- postal fee is calculated from the amount of products and destination

Relatively precise pricing (I use this method now)
It is easy to pre-calculate it for costumers

- postal fee is calculated from the weight and destination
The most precise way to calculate the postal fee. everyone pays what needed to pay.
It is not easy to pre-calculate it for costumers. (that is the reason I do not use this now)

- No postal fee (the product price includes it)
Easy to calculate :) cheaper for smaller orders
This way I need to rise my prices much to make it affordable to post only just one set.

- Other (please write your idea)
Maybe there is a better way. If you know one, please tell me!

Also any replies are very welcome in this issue!

Thanks,
Olivér

I say stick with the same plan you have been using all along. It is less confusing to us customers.

Since I'm assuming you don't often ship heavy parcels out I would've thought it would be easier for all involved if you just offered a fixed shipping cost depending on the destination.

Personally I've always been a fan of just including shipping fees into slightly higher base prices. I know that there is not a logical reason why, but I just hate visible shipping fees.

I hate sites where you have to input all of your information before you can see what the shipping fees will be. I too like to see the final price upfront.

I agree. On most of the cases this is the same with me: no need to count shipping fee is the best way, but I'm not sure it is the same with my shop.

Just look at this case:
Someone order only 1 set of 3x3x3 stickers (1 Euro) from outside Europe
To make it affordable for me, I need to sell it at least 7 Euro because the postal fee outside Europe is 6 Euro. Who will buy a simple 3x3x3 sticker set for 7 Euro?? No one!
If I look at it from the whole income at a month and only count the average postal fee/ puzzle, it is still more than 3 Euro extra for this set.

I prefer if someone order more sets / order; This way, the postal fee / puzzle rate is much lower for the costumer, more income and less administrative work for me. (so it worth both of us)

Thats a good point!
For this the "Fix postal fee / region" and the "postal fee is calculated from the amount of products and destination" is a good way. It is really easy to calculate, and it is displayed for all costumers at the shipping informations (like it is at now)

Cubesmith has a scheme where shipping is free with orders over a certain amount and otherwise you pay a fixed amount. Is this an option for you? It's very simple for the customers.

I agree that "free shipping" always feels nice but then I can't help thinking those living in the same country or even continent are overpaying compared with those on the other side of the world.

Thanks for all the votes!
It helped me a lot, to decide the best way to calculate shipping fee.

Within a few week (or maybe sooner) we will close the old shop and open a new one under a new domain address.
Till than you are all able to use the current shop.

That is an extra option for all shipping versions. And of course not a bad idea! I did not use it, because in my current shop, I could not figure out how can I set up this.
