Woo, solved my Bicube!
I stumbled on a 3-cycle kind of accidentally, from which I derived the rest. Great fun.

First time I got around to posting in this thread. Today I figured out the square-2 and the SQ224 (very similar) :D

I finally committed to memory all the OLL and PLL algorithms (that I use of course... Not ALL of them). No more "cheating" on the OLL...

Just solved my new 7x7x5 (built by Traiphum). Solved it a few times before shapeshifting. This was the 1st time after shapeshifting. It's a whole new puzzle getting it back to cuboid.

I just got a 0.79 second 2x2 solve

It was sorta lucky but I was using a scramble generator and everything. Here was the solve sequence
R' U R R2 F2 R2

It was crazy. It blew my previous PB of 2.79 out of the water.

If you're curious my average is currently 6.5ish seconds, so I'm not that impressive, just lucky.

Wooo!

Thanks - it only took about four years...

Well, ok - actually it took about a month of serious work, but I've been meaning to finish all of them for about four years.

Just tied my PB single. 6.13 PLL skip with 6 move OLL. I can't decide if I'm really excited or frustrated that I didn't get sub-6.

Wow!! Well done! I will not be able to copy that one hehe.

My accomplishment is I learned a new solve method on the 4x4; Yau. Finally but slowly lowering back to the times I am used to. :) It is so much easier on me when edge pairing

Yay!! Oh I feel so proud of myself. I was able to solve the triamese middle cube using the CubeTwist bandaged set. Took me all day, but that is alright.

The feeling of acomplishment is way different from setting a new PB. Seeing a thought up strategy come to completion is a wonderful feeling

Solved the Helicopter Cube completely on my own. Started in a solved state, fiddled with what would look like commutators, edge piece series, and corner piece series and wrote down anything that looked useful.

Once I found a way to rotate corners, 3-cycle corners and swap corners, I stopped with the corners. Once I found a way to do a 3-cycle centers, I stopped taking notes. Then I scrambled the whole thing and solved it the first time, based on my notes.

Unfortunately, this emboldened me to jumble the thing. Of course, my first instinct was to try to put it into the most jumbled state possible. Bad idea. I couldn't get it back to anything resembling a cube. I then experienced "jumble rage" and proceeded to disassemble the entire thing (which I was going to do anyway at some point) only to go back to the jumbling with a cooler head.

I finally solved my wormhole II.
There are some tricky parts that despite some info on another thread here I was not able to do (read: parity). In fact many mixup algorithms do not work on wormhole II.
Finally it's done

Actually I noticed few people are playing with this cube, it deserves more attention....

Finally solved my Bauhinia Dodecahedron! It took three tries to finish the triangle pieces. The first time I had 11 left, and messed up while undoing setup moves, then I had 6 left and did the same thing. The third time was the charm, and man did it feel amazing to complete that final turn!

Congratulations!
I just did the same myself this morning. It is tough but is possible with practice. I did promise not to scramble and solve it ever again but first time I scrambled it by accident and had to resolve and the second just couldn't resist! Suckers for punishment!

Solved the Dayan Gem III. Started out treating it as an FTO with an edges-first solve.... and was spending forever with 3-cycling the little triangles on the hex faces and 3-cycling the corners.

Finally gave up and started solving it layer-by layer like a megaminx and found myself at the last layer without having to do a single 3-cycle for the little triangles! I was able to just place them how I wanted by pairing them up with corners, no real algorithms. At the last layer, I ran out of room and then had to 3-cycle around 9 of the last corners with some CPS (corner piece series), maybe 4-5 times and solved it! With one of the square faces as U just do:
U R U' L' U R' U' L for a ccw rotation of the corners (same as posted here but ccw and
U' L' U R U' L U' R' for a cw rotation of the corners in mirror image of the image in that link
(does not affect any other pieces, just 3 corners)

Amazed that I didn't need a single algorithm to 3-cycle any of the little triangles after all! So that's my big accomplishment: avoiding "(FR'F'R)x5" and "R U Ri U R 2U Ri 2U R U Ri U R 2U Ri" and "U 2R U Ri U R 2U Ri 2U R U Ri U R 2U Ri 2U Ri"

Haven't posted here for a while, so I'll update some PBs and stuff.
3x3:
4.76 single (LL skip)
8.13 Ao5
8.64 Ao12

Pyraminx:
1.87 Ao5 (UWR)
2.19 Ao12 (UWR)
2.79 Ao100 (UWR

Can I break the WR pyraminx average (2.96) with 3 rounds at worlds? We shall see.

Having solved the Bauhinia, I have been thinking about buying Eitan's star. BUT I did think that I should probably solve the Face turning Starminx first. Rline suggested on Facebook that it's about time I tried it too! To tell the truth it had scared me to death! I had bought it almost a year ago and never had the courage to try it. Finally Rline's comments stung me!

I am proud to say that I have done it in only 2 days and had only one major catastrophe. What is more I am even more proud to say that I solve it bottom half by intuition and then top half by piece type and even designed my own commutators for the centres and the triangles! Now that is not bad considering I barely understand commutators!!!

I guess I'd better buy that star once my finances have recovered from buying Jeremy's 4x6x8 and Traiphum's 5x7x9! I just lurve cuboids!

I just got back from a 10 day vacation. Rather than sit by the lake and read like I usually do, I decided to take all my unsolved puzzles and knock a few out. I'm proud to say I solved all 9 that I had a chance to work on!!!

- Starminx II
- Square One
- Mixup 3x3x3 Plus
- Curvy Copter / Helicopter Cube jumbling
- Crazy 3x3x3 Plus planets - Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Mars

With these out of the way, there's only a handful that I haven't solved out of my collection of about 100 puzzles. I must be getting good at this! :D

I took advantage of Juan's little summer sale to add a couple of extras to my collection. I had never solved the Crazy 4x4 type I (although I had previously solved my type II)

Yesterday I scrambled and solved it and was pleased to see that I managed it with very little difficulty!
Now that is not my accomplishment! After a few solves I came across the PLL parity (I think this doesn't have the OLL parity due to the fixed positioning of the centres).

For the life of me I couldn't remember the algorithm to fix the parity on a crazy cube. My initial attempt was just using the standard opposite edge swap for normal cuboids and I sort of knew it would happen but was fairly horrified at the mess it made of the centres! Having learned the parity fix algorithm from SuperAntoniovivaldi, I recalled that I always struggled to recall it!!

Rather than go back and try and memorise it again, I decided to try and work out my own approach. Recently Rline showed that it is possible to use the corner piece series on other slices to move edges about so I sat and thought about it. I know the corner piece series doesn't upset the centres so after about 1/2 hr I came up with this:
(U R U' l' U R' U' l =cps using left slice
U2) x 5

I don't know whether anyone else has described this method but I've put it in the accomplishments thread because I made it myself! :D

So still not very bright! But getting better all the time!

Solved the Dayan Gem VII today (without jumbling).

I start with the helicopter moves at the bottom (the 4 two-colored centers) and then the 4 Corner and the 4 Edges at the bottom for a better orientation. Followed by the rest of the helicopter parts and then the 5 remaining faces.
I like the puzzle! My Gem VII turns not bad.

Now I will solve the Gem VII with the helicopter jumbling moves.

Officially the pyraminx world champion :D (3.16 average in finals)
Also, 3 sub 10 averages at worlds and made the final round of 3x3. Talked to Feliks for like 45 minutes in the finalists waiting room. It was epic.

I got a new 3x3 PB of 15.39 (PLL skip), and a new non-lucky PB of 16.16.

Also got a new PB Avg of 5: 20.24.

Also, I figured out how to fix the "parity" on my X-Cube on my own. That's the first time I've ever done that.

Solved the Mixup Plus Cube for the first time! I did figure out how to fix the edge flip parity but I didn't have to do the corner swap parity, so I still need to learn that...
