I found an old cube while cleaning out my car and left it sitting in the cup holder. My girlfriend saw it, decided to scramble it and give me the red light challenge.

I confess, I'm guilty of doing this too...

I have to say after Oskar's 8 inch bolt puzzle, when I saw the title I was thinking of something completely different.

Have you tried solving it while you're actually driving?

I can't believe how many videos there are of STUPID people doing this, some with their kids in the back while driving on the freeway - in the rain!

DON'T TRY!

I was given a red light challenge in Bangkok recently......

Now that WAS a puzzle. (and just a bit twisted as well)

I am guilt of this, a few years back. On my longer commute I would get bored and did some one handed solving with just the occasional glance at the cube (like when juggling/solving).

It was foolish and I did stop as I realized how much it was compromising my attention (unintentional lane changes). I do still have two "car cubes" that I should probably remove. They haven't received much attention lately and this is a good thing for safety.

In the interests of disclosure there were never children present nor was it ever raining. But I'll stand by Kelvin's assessment that this was particularly stupid behavior and recommend against anyone giving it a try.

Dave
