Such a simple idea, yet visionary, revolutionary!

That is awesome!! I totally want one. It's hard to tell from the video if you can really be very accurate, but it is still pretty cool.

Accuracy would defeat the point. This is for rough, quick and dirty artistic and conceptual sketching. If you want engineering-level accuracy then best stick to CAD and 3D printing.

Having said that, just like using a pencil with ruler on paper (do people still do that?), you could use surfaces as a guide, as they did to construct the Eifel Tower model.

Engineering level accuracy is not what I would want/need, but but some of the models looked sort of sloppy. Hopefully those are exceptions and, in general, models will look nice.

I feel like we could use this to make an affordable 3d printer.

Oh weird, it's like scribbles that have come to life. "Well you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true..."

I think I am more interested in seeing where this leads. The Dremel sized 'pen' at present is a novelty which I believe would wear off pretty quick. Still pretty amazing though.

This is brilliant! So now I won't have to hire that small airplane's
rear smoke to create a dedication to my darling!

Hmmm.... A 3D pen drawing a 3D pen which is drawing the previous 3D pen, anyone?

Something along the lines of this, but in 3d?

It reminds me of an overglorified glue gun, although it's really cool how the 'ink' 'sets' instantly. I may purchase one if it turns out around that price range, so I can't wait for it :D
