Hi all

I'd like to present a puzzle I made. I'm reasonably sure it hasn't been made before. It's my 3rd puzzle modification, after my mini rumbling prism and the half truncated cube I made.

I designed it in sketchup. I cut all the stickers by hand, apart from where I could use parts of the original stickers that came with the original cube. I feel like I have more understanding of the whole process of modifying puzzles.

I called it the spinning top, as I have no idea what its correct shape name is, and it reminded me of a spinning top. I'm open to better suggestions.

A short video.

I hope you like it. :)

Nice! It reminds me of some of Andreas's work.

Hi,

Why did you choose this shape?

The images look very good and some are already edited (thank you) but they are quite small. Could post images with a size of 400*400?

Nice!

I rather like gem shapes, was this capped or filled?

Your stickers look amazing for just your third puzzles! Soon you should feel comfortable enough to put exact fillets on each sticker.

Yes, I found a lot of nice 333 puzzle mods and then discovered Andreas had made most of them already.

I was learning a little of sketchup and decided to see what happened when I cut this here and that there, and thought this shape looked very cool. I hoped it would look good in real life too.

I have all the larger size images you need. I just found that in the preview the images looked so large, overpowering. I will email them to you.

Capped mainly, with a little filling where required.

Thankyou. You might need to explain "exact fillets on each sticker" to me.

Someone pointed out that there was already a spinning top sold by mefferts. This doesn't surprise me but when I looked in the TP museum there was no spinning top there, at least under that name. Therefore I'm changing it's name to something else. Any suggestions?

does anyone know the correct technical name for this shape?

Only Most of them. I have to insist on that.

I doubt that there is an official name for this shape. Therefore I suggest:
"Nine Triangles 3x3x3"
"Truncated 001 010 100"
"Rotating Cuts"
