Last Wednesday a parcel from Sandy's shop got delivered and my Cube count crossed the number 444!
In May 2011 I wrote here

In German we call this a "Schnapszahl". (Schnaps = liquor; Zahl = number; a multidigit number with all digits equal is a Schapszahl)
I think the name comes from the assumption, that a Schapszahl is a lucky number and he/she who has reached this number should invite the others to a Schnaps. A virtual "Prost" to everybody! (Cheers) :D
Another explanation of the word is that he/she who has drunken too much Schnaps sees everything doubled or more times.
As I have given away six of my cubes to friends and relatives, since I have started counting at the end of 2009 (many more before that date), the actual number of twisty puzzles is lower by six. This is compensated by several wooden puzzles and a Rubik's slide not included in the count...
OK, it took me 614 days to get to the next "Schnapszahl". This means that I got on average an additional puzzle all 5.5 days. This is a very slow progression compared with other collections (e.g. Claus' collection  ), but my wife has the impression that the postman rings daily
I'll show pictures of nearly all my puzzles as of todayImage

In December I got three more racks out of acrylic glass and the main part of my collection is displayed here

There are two other places in our house occupied by puzzles:

In our living room there is a small acrylic cabinet containing custom puzzles mostly:

Some more puzzles behind glass doors which are opened while taking the photo:

It is a bit difficult to take pictures with flash light due to the mirrored backside of the cabinets.
Sometimes you can spot the photographer. :)
Here are the acrylic cabinets shown side by side:

And here you find the racks enlarged:

Some more custom puzzles:

While I was taking these photos a new puzzle from Traiphum arrived:

When I started collecting some custom puzzles three years ago they were shape shifting 3x3x3.
I had stopped collecting shape-shifting puzzles, but recently I could not resist the beauty of these and the Hungab Ghost Cube. (I'm waiting for one more from Hungab.)

What a wonderful collection Konrad!

I love the acrylic shelving, it shows them off very nicely, I would like to get something like that myself I think.

I got them from www.sora.de. You can customize the racks to some degree. Shipping to the UK is EUR 12.
You cam get the prices in GBP as well, but I'm afraid that they have not more internationalization to offer on their website.

Great, thanks Konrad. It's a shame that Google won't translate the page to English for me

If you are really interested, I might be able to help you translating the important stuff.
On this page you can specify the essential things: outer measurements (in cm) and the number of rows and columns.
Be warned, though, it is not really cheap.

Konrad,

Your collection is absolutely astounding! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
I would love to have that many twisty puzzles but I'm afraid I am only up to 86!! You are very lucky to be able to show them off like that! The present wife will not let me display them anywhere outside my study!

I won't post my pictures here because only 1/5 of my collection is twisty!

If anyone is interested I posted a blog post on Jan 1st with a subtitle of "The state of the union collection" - in it I show off my collection. Not quite as beautifully displayed as yours but you might like it!

Marty,

You don't have to rely on a translation from Konrad! The Sora store from Germany also have an English website:

http://www.sora-shop.com/

Hope this helps!! :D

If possible, could we have the measurements you used? Even when in English I don't understand what to do...

Ouch!
That is humongous.

This brings me to a selfish plea:
Can you enter your collection here and let us view it online?
http://twistypuzzles.com/cgi-bin/cm-list.cgi

I want to know what is missing to that number of 444 ...

Aha! Thanks, I wasn't aware of that.

Having had a look at it though, they are a bit out of my price range unfortunately, I need a cheaper solution. Oh well. :(

On this page I filled in the measurements of my last order.

A single compartment can hold a Petaminx or a Void Tuttminx.
My first cabinets had more compartments and were less deep. The newer ones give me more flexibility. This is up to your taste!

Actually no, in my region earthquakes didn't happen in the last centuries  But why should I fear them? The racks are quite stable and closed by a front panel - which I took off for taking the photos.
