I thought for sure this was a thesis on why questions are the hardest to answer but instead it's a non-sequitur question about the Flintstones

Why does a car need a clutch but a steam train doesn't?

Can't they just bleed off excess pressure by releasing steam? A car doesn't actually need a clutch, a torque converter serves basically the same purpose. Instead of disengaging the engine from the wheels you waste a bunch of energy as heat in the torque converter fluid.

Why do we fear change when change is the only option?
And why do we worry about the things we can't change?

And why does menopause happen to women?
And to quote Seinfeld, why did they choose the term "rhinoplasty" for a nose job?

Menos - Greek for month
Pausis - Greek for cessation
Menopause - cessation of monthly cycle
Every 28 days my ears bleed and the laser stare burns me indiscriminately!

Rhino - Greek for nose
Plasti - Greek for alteration of shape
Rhinoplasty - nose job! :D

As token medical officer to the forum, I offer my services!

Why do we have different time zones, rather than a universal time system where day and night simply happen at different times around the world?

Because Jeopardy has shown us that having an answer leads us to the question "what is the question?". There are two questions for every answer  .

Why is the word "why" spelt with two consonants and a val that is sometimes used as consonant,
instead of using the more accurate spelling of "wai"?

Because the amount of questions associated with answers like 'yes', 'no' or 'I don't know' is infinite.
