Based on the article this is the pinter they'll be using:
http://www.mcortechnologies.com/products/iris/

They don't say what technology the printer is using but if I had to guess I'd say it's something similar to PolyJet.

Well, if the printers they are using are similar to the Maker Bot 2, then I doubt it would be able to print puzzles.

Doing some digging, it seems to use paper as the build material. They have a "water based adhesive" to bond layers of paper together in a "lamination process".

I'm really curious what the end results are like.
